The government hired Cassel & Associates Realtors and Auctioneers to sell the 7,400-square-foot home of Donald H. Ayers, a former executive of National Century Financial Enterprises who is serving a 15-year sentence in a federal prison. The Ayers' home was confiscated by the federal government after he was convicted in March 2008 of securities fraud and money laundering. Ayers was among 11 company executives convicted after the business collapsed in the largest case of private-sector fraud in U.S. history.
